सड़क मार्ग से: वृंदावन दिल्ली-आगरा NH-2 पर स्थित है। विभिन्न बसें आगरा और दिल्ली के बीच चलती हैं। मंदिर 7 कि.मी. राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग से दूर है । मंदिर तक पहुँचना बहुत आसान है क्योंकि यहाँ दिन भर लगातार टेम्पो और रिक्शा उपलब्ध रहते हैं। मथुरा सिर्फ 12 किमी दूर है। मथुरा और वृंदावन के बीच अक्सर बसें, टेम्पो और टैक्सियां ​​चलती हैं।

सड़क मार्ग से: वृंदावन दिल्ली-आगरा नॉएडा होते हुए यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे से भी  आ सकते है।  विभिन्न बसें आगरा और दिल्ली के बीच यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे पर चलती हैं। मंदिर ९  कि.मी. यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे से दूर है । मंदिर तक पहुँचना बहुत आसान है क्योंकि यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे  से जो वृन्दावन का वे है वह रास्ता सीधा बांके बिहारी जी मंदिर के पीछे की और आकर ख़तम होता है । यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे सिर्फ ९  किमी दूर है। यमुना  एक्सप्रेसवे और वृंदावन के बीच अक्सर टेम्पो चलते  हैं।

ट्रेन से: पास का प्रमुख रेलवे स्टेशन दिल्ली-चेन्नई और दिल्ली-मुंबई मुख्य लाइन पर मथुरा है। कई एक्सप्रेस और यात्री ट्रेनें मथुरा को भारत के अन्य प्रमुख शहरों जैसे दिल्ली, मुंबई, पुणे, चेन्नई, बैंगलोर, हैदराबाद, कलकत्ता, ग्वालियर, देहरादून, इंदौर और आगरा से जोड़ती हैं। हालांकि वृंदावन अपने आप में एक रेलवे स्टेशन है। वृंदावन और मथुरा के बीच एक रेल बस एक दिन में 5 चक्कर लगाती है।

वायु द्वारा: वृंदावन से केवल 67 किमी दूर निकटतम हवाई अड्डा आगरा 168 किमी दूर हवाई अड्डा दिल्ली है। निकटतम अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा दिल्ली है, जो प्रमुख एयरलाइनों के साथ दुनिया के लगभग हर महत्वपूर्ण शहर से जुड़ा हुआ है। भारत के अन्य महत्वपूर्ण पर्यटन स्थलों जैसे दिल्ली, मुंबई, बैंगलोर और चेन्नई आदि के लिए नियमित उड़ानें हैं।

By Road : Vrindavan is situated on Delhi-Agra NH-2. the various buses runs between the Agra and Delhi. temple is 7 km. away from National Highway. Getting to Temple is very easy as there are frequent tempos and rickshaw available throughout the day. Mathura is just 12 km away. frequent buses, tempos and taxies runs between Mathura and Vrindavan.

Second way By Road: Vrindavan can also come via Yamuna Expressway via Delhi-Agra Noida. Various buses ply on the Yamuna Expressway between Agra and Delhi. Temple 8 km Yamuna is far from the expressway. It is very easy to reach the temple because the way of Vrindavan from the Yamuna Expressway ends directly behind the Banke Bihari Ji Temple. Yamuna Expressway is just 4 km away. Tempo's often run between the Yamuna Expressway and Vrindavan.

By Train : The major railway station nearby is Mathura on the Delhi-Chennai and Delhi-Mumbai main line. Several express and passenger trains connect Mathura from other major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Gwalior, Dehradun, Indore, and Agra. Though Vrindavan itself is a railway station. A rail bus runs between Vrindavan and Mathura 5 round in a day.

By Air : The nearest airport is Agra just 67 km away from Vrindavan. The nearest international airport is Delhi, which is connected to almost every important city in the world with major airlines. There are regular flights to other important tourist destinations of India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai etc.

श्री धाम  वृन्दावन यह एक ऐसी पावन भूमि है।जिस भूमि पर आने मात्र से ही सभी पापो का नाश हो जाता है। श्री बाँके बिहारी जी मंदिर का निर्माण स्वामी श्री हरिदास जी के वंसजो के अतः प्रयास से 1629 में किया गया।

जब स्वामी श्री हरिदास जी             महाराज  25 वर्ष के हुए तब इन्होने अपने गुरूजी से विरक्त वेष प्राप्त किया एवं संसार से दूर होकर निकुंज बिहारी जी के नित्य लीलाओ का चिंतन करने लगे। स्वामी श्री हरिदास जी महाराज निकुंज मैं ही बिहारी जी की सेवा किया करते थे। वृन्दावन के संत एक दिन स्वामी जी से बोले की आप भी हमको अपने ठाकुर के दर्शन कराइये सब संतो के आग्रह पर स्वामी जी ने बिहारी जी निवेदन किया की वह सबको दर्शन दे जिससे सब आपके दर्शन कर सब आने जीवन को सफल बनाये । उसी दिन रात्रि को बिहारी जी स्वामी हरिदास जी को स्वप्न मैं उनको बताया मैं श्री निधिवन मैं हु  तब उनकी आज्ञा अनुसार मनोहर श्यामवण छवि वाले श्री विग्रह को धारा को स्वामी जी अपनी भजन की साधना से बिहारी जी महाराज को बहार  निकाला।   यही सुन्दर मूर्ति आगे चल कर श्री बाँके बिहारी जी के नाम से विख्यात हुई। श्री बाँके बिहारी जी की मूर्ति के प्राकट्य तिथि को हम बिहार-पंचमी के रूप में बड़े उल्लास के साथ मानते है।स्वामी जी ने बिहारी जी महाराज को अपनी गोद मैं बिठाया और इस पद का गान किया :--------

"माई री, सहज जोरी प्रगट भई,

जु रंग की गौर-स्याम घन-दामिनि जैसैं।

प्रथम हूँ हुती, अब हूँ आगें हूँ रहिहै, न टरिहै तैसैं”  

अंग-अंग की उजराई-सुघराई-चतुराई-सुन्दरता ऐसैं।

श्रीहरिदास के स्वामी स्यामा-कुंजबिहारी, सम वैस वैसैं​ -  स्वामी श्री हरिदास 

श्री बाँके बिहारी  की सेवा निधिवन में ही बहुत समय तक  स्वामी जी द्वारा सेवा  होती  रही ।कुछ समय बाद स्वामी श्री हरिदास जी महाराज ने बिहारी जी महाराज की सेवा पूजा का  भार अपने भाई जगन्नाथ जी और अपने भतीजे विट्ठल विपुल जी को सोप दिया।    फिर जब मंदिर का निर्माण कार्य संपन्न हो गया तब उनको वहा लाकर स्थापित कर दिया। 

इसी पद्धति अनुसार वृंदावन के सभी मंदिरों में सेवा एवं महोत्सव मनाये जाते है। श्री बाँके बिहारी मंदिर में केवल शरदपूर्णिमा के दिन ही श्री बिहारी जी वंशी धारण करते है। केवल श्रवण तीज के दिन ही ठाकुर जी झूले पर बैठते है। एवं जन्माष्टमी के दिन ही उनकी मंगला आरती होती है। जिसके दर्शन सौभाग्यशाली व्यक्ति को ही प्राप्त होते है। और चरण दर्शन केवल अक्षय तृतीया के दिन ही होता है। इन चरण कमलो का जो दर्शन करता है। उसका बेढ़ा ही पार लग जाता है। 

एक दिन प्रातः काल स्वामी जी शोच करने गए एवं वापस आकर देखने लगे की उनके विस्तर पर कोई रजाई ओढ़कर सो रहा है। यह देखकर स्वामी जी बोले, अरे मेरे विस्तर पर कोन सो रहा है। वहा बिहारी जी स्वंय सो रहे थे। स्वामी जी शव्द सुनते ही बिहारी जी निकल भागे। किन्तु वे अपने चुडा एवं वंशी को विस्तर पर रखकर चले गये। स्वामी जी वृद्ध अवस्था में द्रष्टि जीर्ण होने के कारण उनको कुछ नजर नही आया। इसके पश्चात श्री बाँके बिहारी मंदिर के पुजारी ने जब मंदिर के कपाट खोले तो उन्हें श्री बाँके बिहारी जी पालने में चुडा एवं वंशी नजर नही आये। किन्तु मंदिर का दरवाजा बन्द था।

आश्चर्य चकित होकर पुजारी जी निधिवन के स्वामी जी के पास आये एवं स्वामी जी को सभी बाते बताई। स्वामी जी बोले की प्रातःकाल कोई मेरे पलंग पर सोया हुआ था। वह जाते वक्त कुछ छोड़ गया है। तब पुजारी जी ने प्रत्कछय देखा की पलंग पर श्री बिहारी जी के चुडा एवं बंसी विराजमान है। इससे प्रमाणित होता है कि श्री बिहारी जी रात को रास करने के लिए निधिवन जाते है। इसी कारण से प्रातः श्री बिहारी जी की मंगला आरती नही होती है। कारण रात में बिहारी जी रास करके यहाँ पर आते है। अतः प्रातः शयन में बाधा डालकर उनकी आरती करना अपराध है। स्वामी हरिदास जी के दर्शन करने के लिए अनेको सम्राट यहाँ आया करते थे। एक बार देल्ही सम्राट अकबर, स्वामी जी के दर्शन हेतु यहाँ आये थे।

श्री बिहारी जी के सामने एक दरबाजे पर एक पर्दा लगा रहता है। और वो पर्दा एक-दो मिनट के अंतराल पर बन्द एवं खोला जाता है।

एकबार एक भक्त एकतक देखता रहा कि उसकी भक्ति के बसीभूत होकर श्री बिहारी जी भक्त के साथ ही चले गए। पुजारी जी ने जब मंदिर के कपाट खोले तो उन्हें बिहारी जी नही दिखाई दिए। पता चला की वे अपने एक भक्त चले गए है। तभी से ऐसा नियम बना दिया कि झलक दर्शन में ठाकुर जी का पर्दा खुलता एवं बन्द होता रहेगा।

Sri Dham Vrindavan This is such a holy land. Only by coming to the land, all sins are destroyed. Shri Banke Bihari Ji Temple was constructed in 1629 with the efforts of Swami Shri Haridas Ji's descendants.

When Swami Shri Haridas ji Maharaj was 25 years old, he received a disguise from his Guru and away from the world started contemplating Nikunj Bihari Ji's daily leelas. It was in Nikunj forest that Swami Haridas ji had a dream to remove the idol of Bihari ji. Then, according to his orders, Shri Vigraha, who had the beautiful image of Shyamavan, was taken out of the lap of the stream. This beautiful idol later became known as Shri Banke Bihari Ji. We treat the date of the idol of Shri Banke Bihari Ji as Bihar-Panchami with great gaiety.

"maee ree, sahaj joree pragat bhee,
ju rang kee gaur-syaam ghan-daamini jaisain.
pratham hoon hutee, ab hoon aagen hoon rahihai, na tarihai taisain
ang-ang kee ujaraee-sugharaee-chaturaee-sundarata aisain.
 shreeharidaas ke svaamee syaama-kunjabihaaree, sam vais vaisain”    -  swami shree haridaas

Shri Banke Bihari Nidivan was serving by Swamiji for a very long time. Then when the construction of the temple

 was completed, then they were brought there and installed.

According to this method, service and festivals are celebrated in all the temples of Vrindavan. In Shri Banke Bihari temple, Shri Bihari Ji wears Vanshi only on Sharad Purnima. Thakur ji sits on the swing only on the day of Shravan Teej. And on the day of Janmashtami, there is Mangla Aarti. Whose fortunes are received only by a fortunate person. And Charan Darshan occurs only on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. The vision of Kamlo in these stages. His raffle comes across. Swami Haridas ji was the mentor of Tansen, a famous singer of music.

One day in the morning, Swamiji went to Shoch and came back to see that someone was sleeping with a quilt on his bed. Seeing this, Swamiji said, who is sleeping on my bed? Bihari ji himself was sleeping there. On hearing Swami ji's funeral, Bihari ji ran out. But they went away keeping their chudas and wanshi on the bed. Swamiji did not see anything in his old age due to his chronic eyesight. After this, when the priest of Shri Banke Bihari temple opened the doors of the temple, he could not see Chhunkha and Vanshi in Shri Banke Bihari ji's cradle. But the door of the temple was closed.

Surprised, the priest came to Nidivan's lord and told Swami ji all the things. Swamiji said that someone was sleeping on my bed in the morning. He has left something while leaving. Then the priest saw every sight that the chuda and flute of Shri Bihari Ji are sitting on the bed. This proves that Shri Bihari ji goes to Nidivan to do raas at night. For this reason, there is no Mangala Aarti of Shri Bihari Ji in the morning. Due to this, Bihari ji comes here at night. Therefore, it is a crime to interrupt their sleep in the morning. Many emperors used to come here to see Swami Haridas ji. Once Delhi emperor Akbar came here to see Swamiji.

In front of Shri Bihari ji, a curtain is placed on a court. And that curtain is closed and opened at an interval of one to two minutes.

Once a devotee kept on looking at that Shri Bihari ji went away with the devotee due to his devotion. When the priest opened the doors of the temple, he did not see Bihari ji. It turned out that one of his devotees has gone. Since then it has been made such a rule that the curtain of Thakur ji will be opened and closed in Jhalak Darshan.
